Roles and Responsibilities
-Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
-Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and other construction materials
-Construct and install building frameworks including walls, floors, and roofs
-Perform finishing carpentry work such as trim, doors, cabinetry, and moldings
-Complete renovations, repairs, and general maintenance of existing structures
-Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
-Ensure all work is completed according to building codes, safety standards, and company expectations
-Work collaboratively with supervisors, crew members, and other trades
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site
-Identify construction issues and propose practical solutions
-Follow all site safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE
-Assist with material handling, loading/unloading, and general site preparation as required
Qualifications/Requirements
-Previous experience as a Carpenter (residential, industrial and/or commercial)
-Journeyman Carpenter certification considered an asset
-Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
-Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS) are an asset
-Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions
-Strong work ethic with attention to detail and quality
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Reliable transportation (site-dependent)
-Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
